The RAIN SWITCH with pump is a totally self contained pumping system to the household & is supplied in a prefabricated polyethylene all weather enclosure - you choose the colour. The system comes as a complete package already to be installed; only external connections to be made i.e. 20mm-mains; 20mm-house; 25mm-pump.
The RAIN SWITCH is designed to supply rain water from an above or under ground rainwater tank. This operation occurs through an Automatic Pump Controller to toilets/ laundry and garden taps in a household. Mains water is also connected as an automatic backup should tank water run low.

To give you an idea of water pressure rates:
Council mains are usually 276 kPa (40 psi)
Household pumps range from 103-276 kPa (15-40 psi)
A tank on a stand at 10 mtrs (33ft) will give 103 kPa (15 psi)
1 metre gives 10.3 kPa (1.5 psi)
psi = pounds per square inch
kPa = kilopascal
Additional Information about ACTF Pumps -
- All pumps are upgraded to stainless shafts, Japanese NSK bearings, premium mechanical seals and IP55 protection
- Pump and controller comes with a full one year back to base replacement warranty - proof of purchase to be provided.
- The warranty does not cover items that show obvious signs of misuse or damage due to incorrect installation.
- ACTF pumps are self-priming under most installation conditions and no pump priming is required.
- When the pump is installed above the water supply, a one-way check valve must be installed at the bottom of the suction line and the pump must be primed.
- Prime the pump BEFORE fitting the controller. Fit the suction line to the pump, and fill pump and suction line with water through the pumps outlet.
- Do not remove the air bleed cap at the top of the pump body, and do not operate the pump while the air bleed caps are loose or removed. Doing this may cause the pump to be drowned, and a short circuit could result. This will also void your warranty.
- Seal the controller to the pump outlet with Teflon tape or an O-ring on the thread. Hand tighten firmly - do not over tighten. Do not directly seal the controller against the pump housing or you could crack the controller body and void the warranty.
- The pumps are not submersible - protect them from moisture and weather. Housing the pumps in a suitable weatherproof enclosure will ensure a long service life. Proof of purchase required for all warranty claims.
